I work at the Roger's Centre and, as such, pass through Union Station on a near daily basis. So, I've been observing CTV's impressive marketing of their new fall show lineup. Their ads include sequenced posters lining the walls of the subway tunnels, pillar wraparounds, and an enormous floor marquis in the centre of the station that looks like a giant ornamental rug with cash sticking out the sides (for the new show "Dirty Sexy Money). From the time you step off the train to when you leave to street level, you are exposed to banners showcasing at least 2 new programs, and the images are very intriguing. They introduce you to the characters and taglines of the premises, but leave you wondering what exactly the show is about. I find the fake carpet especially effective, as well as the family portrait style mugshots of the cast of "Money", complete with bras and other scandolous paraphenalia hanging off the edges of the ornate goldplated picture frames.
CTV seems to be presenting its new programs as if they were full length features, perhaps in an attempt to elevate quality television to the same level as cinema. In my eyes, they're doing a great job. If I had a TV, id TOTALLY be tuning in. Maybe I'll youtube some episodes, and rent them when they come out on dvd...
Full Lineup: Dirty Sexy Money, Private Practice, Pushing Daisies, Gossip Girl, Big Shots and Moonlight.

Some times I find the ads are so mysterious I never end up finding out what show was being advertised... Effective!
I'm sure most of us who use the subway to get to OCAD have noticed that E! Entertainment ads that sprawl across St. George Station come to a similar effect. Does CTV own E! Entertainment?
the way they have been promoting their shows is similar to many brands today i.e. global covered many subway with the simpsons and family guy pillar wraparounds and floor coverings as did telus and bell at christmas. it works b/c we have no where else to look but it can become a little overwhelming
i also find the carpet very effective, as i step towards the carpet i almost felt like i was in a casino. The ads are very bold and attractive, and im able to leave the station remembering what was the name of the show.
Kenny, I am wondering the same thing because that channel used to be CH.
Has E! bought out CH? Where did CH go?
