Creeps & Weirdos


While doing a research for another class I came across this ad online. General Motors had pressured local governments to eliminate public transit and put out this ad in a Vancouver paper in order to promote their own "affordable alternatives" to completely disregard the environment. In fact, the negative responses against the ad actually pressured the president of GM to write a formal apology.

Wow! I can't believe GM would put out an ad like this. It's totally socially unaware, with all of the concern for the environmental effects of emissions.
It would seem to me that discounting public transit (one of the greenest ways to travel) is not a wise way to win over today's green-minded public. Especially not the younger demographic I'm sure they were targeting with their "affordable alternative".
I'm sure they weren't addressing old, WASP CEO's.
